Vikes Stay Perfect

The Minnesota Vikings remained undefeated on Sunday, October 25, grinding out a 16–10 victory over the Indianapolis Colts at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. The Colts struck first when running back Jonathan Taylor broke loose for a 38-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter. Minnesota struggled to establish its offense early, settling for two Will Reichard field goals in the second quarter. Indianapolis added a field goal just before halftime to take a 10–6 lead, and neither team scored in the third quarter as both defenses continued to dominate.

The Vikings finally took control early in the fourth quarter, thanks to a spectacular 35-yard scramble by quarterback Kyler Murray that brought Minnesota within striking distance of the end zone. On the next play, Murray connected with tight end T.J. Hockenson for a five-yard touchdown pass, putting the Vikings ahead 13–10. Murray finished with 150 passing yards and a touchdown, while running back Jordan Mason contributed 68 rushing yards in his return from injury. Reichard added a 52-yard field goal late in the quarter to extend Minnesota’s advantage to six points.

Minnesota’s defense ultimately sealed the victory, continuing a season-long trend of shutting down opponents in critical moments. Linebacker Blake Cashman led the defensive effort with 12 tackles, two sacks and four passes defended, repeatedly pressuring Colts quarterback Daniel Jones. With just over a minute remaining, veteran safety Harrison Smith intercepted Jones to end Indianapolis’s final comeback attempt. The win improved Minnesota’s record to 6–0, keeping the Vikings among the NFL’s strongest teams despite another uneven offensive performance. Their next challenge would be a major NFC North matchup against the Detroit Lions.
