Pack Rally To OT Win

The Packers ruined former coach Mike McCarthy’s return to Lambeau Field with a two-touchdown fourth-quarter comeback that led to an overtime victory, 31-28.

Kicker Mason Crosby’s 28-yard field goal ended it with 3:06 left in OT and ended the Packers’ five-game losing streak. Green Bay is now 4-6 on the season, Dallas is 6-3.

Green Bay got three TD receptions from rookie WR Christian Watson, the last two in the fourth quarter, with one of them on fourth-and-7 to cut the Cowboys’ lead to seven points.

Both teams had possessions to win it down the stretch in regulation, and the Cowboys won the toss in overtime to take the ball. But the Packers stopped a fourth-and-3 from the Green Bay 35 and got the ball back.

QB Aaron Rodgers hit WR Allen Lazard on a slant on third-and-short, and Lazard broke into the clear, running the ball all the way to the Dallas 20. The Packers eventually put the ball on the 10 to set up Crosby’s winning kick.

New Packers S Rudy Ford had two interceptions preceding both of Green Bay’s touchdowns in the first half, which ended with the score tied at 14. Dallas took the lead and momentum in the third quarter following WR Amari Rodgers’ fumble on a punt return, and he was removed from that duty the rest of the game.

For the Packers, Rodgers was 14-of-20 for 224 yards with three TDs and a 146.7 passer rating. Watson had four catches for 107 yards and the three scores. RB Aaron Jones had the Packers’ other TD, rushing 24 times for 138 yards. RB AJ Dillon added 13 carries for 65 yards, while Lazard had three catches for 45 yards and WR Sammy Watkins had three receptions for 47 yards.

For the Cowboys, QB Dak Prescott was 27-of-46 for 265 yards with three TDs, two INTs and a 78.6 passer rating. WR Cee Dee Lamb had 11 catches for 150 yards and two TDs, while TE Dalton Schultz added six grabs for 54 yards and a TD. RB Tony Pollard had 22 carries for 115 yards and a TD.
