Heath Wins Swami

For the 4th time, Heath wins the crown with Seattle’s Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots. Defeating Mark Newberg (Swami ’07, ’13, ’16’, ’20), he matches the most titles to Mr. Newberg. This was a battle of the Swami titans, and it was a dead heat. Newberg’s great playoff run tied Heath for the Super Bowl showdown with 197 points heading into the big game. He needed the underdog Patriots to overcome a world class defense in Seattle, but the Seahawks proved the New England offense could not.

Now matched with four Swami Championships each, the next time either can achieve the feat again will be historic. It isn’t going to be easy, especially since the Alexander family is a tough force to be reckoned with. This was the first final since 2021 that didn’t include Paul, Stephen, or Ashley.

Thanks to all who participated in this 19th season of the SFL. Week in and week out, it was a tough race and quite the marathon. As we look forward to our 20th season, we hope it continues to make the NFL season fun and challenging. See you in Season XX!
