Wannabes & Rooks: The 2013 Class

2013 welcomes Rookies David Hughes (2013 NHL Octopus Champion) and Chrissy Grasso.

Along with the new blood, we have mainstays Mark Newberg, Jeremy Berner, Guy Heath, and 3 sophomores, reigning Swami (or is it Lady Swami?) Holly Stewart,  Kevin ‘Vanilla Shake’ Van Shaick, and Johnny “Babaloo” Maldonado to round out the magic 8-ball that is the Swami Chase.

Mark is vying to become the first 3-time Swami in league history, while Guy (7th season) and Jeremy (4th season) are trying to pop the Swami cherry that eludes their fate.  Holly is simply trying to repeat (or is it she-peat?) and rub her big trophy in the arrogant face of he-mankind. Kevin aims for the top while floating on the carcass of the Dead Dolphin that he’s been safely keeping over the spring and summer break from Swami League.  Johnny is back with his “mini-me” (son John Anthony) to go for the trophy. Sadly, Ivan won’t be playing this season and we’ll miss him in the league dearly, but he’ll be back I’m sure to make another glorious run to a title in the future.  We’ll see how it all pans out.  We’ve got a ringer from Minnesota (Hughes) and now ANOTHER female.  One wins the whole thing and there goes the glass ceiling, eh?  Well we’ll just have to keep an eye out for Grasso (a Niners fan…blecchhh).  Good Luck to all in 2013.  LET THE TRASH TALK BEGIN!!!
