Welcome to Season 12!
- Updated: September 1, 2018

Here we go! Season 12 begins Thursday night with the Eagles hosting the Falcons kicking off another great season with a loaded pool of players all vying for the glorious crown of Swami.
This year we have 17 players, our largest pool ever. What does this mean for 2018? Well for one, since there are only 12 playoff teams, five of our 17 players will be eliminated from playoff contention. It also means there will be a tighter race to the finish for both the regular season title and to the championship. We’ll see how the new format shakes down, since we’ve had an even 12 players for many seasons.
The Swami Football League welcomes a loaded rookie class: Keith Connor, Marc Zeller, Ray Miehl, Robin Martin, Corey Manning and Jon Portnoy. The Connor family now boasts 3 competitors, upping their chances for a prize in the ol’ family trophy case. Jon Portnoy vows to shock the world with his unorthodox picking method and Andy Cressman will attempt to avenge his loss in the Super Bowl to Mike Amodeo. As I say every year, “Please-oh-please…Don’t let this be a Newberg year“. I know Paul, Holly, Joe M., and Wayne will back me up on that one!
Have a great time everyone and welcome to another great year of Swami!
