Ravens Bash Seahawks

The Baltimore Ravens throttled the Seattle Seahawks 37-3 at M&T Bank Stadium to move to 7-2 on the season.

Baltimore and Seattle looked like they were playing different sports when the two teams matched up on Sunday. The Ravens came into the game as -5.5 point favorites at home and proceeded to blow the Seahawks out of the water.

Running back Gus Edwards opened up the scoring with a rushing touchdown early in the second quarter and from there the floodgates opened. Seattle would score just three points from then until the end of the game on a field goal with a minute left in the first half.

Read up on all you need to know about Baltimore’s dominant victory over the Seahawks.

The Ravens’ defense has been phenomenal this season, possibly the best in the NFL. After holding the high-powered Detroit Lions offense to just six points two weeks earlier in a different thrashing of an NFC team, Baltimore shut down Seattle’s offense completely, allowing just three points. The Seahawks accumulated just 151 total yards of offense and only picked up six first downs for the entire game.

As a whole, the defense recorded four sacks, five tackles for loss, seven passes defended, an interception and a fumble recovery.

This was just the third game of Mitchell’s NFL career after missing the start of the season due to being on injured reserve for a shoulder injury. He recorded just one touch in his first two games, a single reception for nine yards. The second half against Seattle became the Mitchell show, as he announced his arrival to the NFL.

Mitchell broke off two huge runs in the second half, a 40-yard touchdown run to make it 30-3, and a 60-yard run to set up the Ravens’ final touchdown. The organization was high on him after he joined the team as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina, and against the Seahawks, he showed why.

Baltimore’s offense finished the game with 515 total yards and 29 first downs, a truly impressive performance against a talented defense. However, no one player dominated the stat sheet in the win, with Mitchell being the only player to eclipse 100 yards. Almost every offensive player who played for the Ravens contributed to the impressive showing against Seattle.

Lamar Jackson had another solid performance, going 21-of-26 for 187 yards and rushing for another 60 yards. His completion percentage jumped up to 71.5%, which would be a career-high by over five percentage points.
