Ram Tough
- Updated: October 6, 2026
The Los Angeles Rams pulled off a stunning 24-20 comeback over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, erasing a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia appeared firmly in control after taking a 20-10 halftime lead, with Jalen Hurts throwing two touchdown passes to Darius Cooper. But the Eagles’ offense lost momentum after halftime, particularly after running back Saquon Barkley left with a hamstring injury. The Rams’ defense repeatedly came up with critical stops, including a goal-line stand that prevented Philadelphia from extending its lead.
Matthew Stafford and Kyren Williams then took over late. Williams scored on a 1-yard run with 3:59 remaining to cut the deficit to 20-17, and after Philadelphia went three-and-out, Stafford engineered the winning drive. Williams finished it with a 7-yard touchdown run with just 1:10 left, completing the comeback. Puka Nacua was also instrumental, returning from injury to catch nine passes for 125 yards, while Stafford finished with 317 passing yards despite throwing two interceptions.
The Eagles had one final opportunity, but the Rams’ defense closed the door emphatically. Byron Young sacked Hurts twice on the final possession, including a strip-sack that pushed Philadelphia into a desperate fourth-and-25 situation. The Eagles finished with only 172 total yards and went an extraordinary 0-for-12 on third down, while Los Angeles produced 415 yards of offense. The loss dropped both teams to 2-2, but the contrasting finishes made the game particularly revealing: the Rams showed impressive resilience, while Philadelphia’s inability to sustain offense or close out a 10-point fourth-quarter lead raised serious concerns.
