Welcome to Season 16

Let’s go! Football is back and we kick off Thursday with the Bills and the Super Bowl Champion Rams at SoFi Stadium. As we mourn the ending days of summer here in the northeast, we take solace with the arrival of football and the many Sundays cursing at our screens and celebrating last minute wins and hoping against hope for a shot at being Swami.

Last season’s champ is the Frigid Floridian Sean McCafferty. Sean moved back to his original home state at the beginning of the summer, and though we miss him here in New York, we won’t miss his annoying knack of winning games. We predict that the new climate will effect his proclivity.

This season has no changes. LOCKS are back and take place every week of the regular season. You can only use a team once, so remember to map out your picks or rough-ride through the season and get left with the Commanders to beat the 49ers on Christmas Eve. That’s a Christmas gift that Santa won’t leave under your artificial tree. He will especially spite you for not doing your homework. (I know this from having to take Detroit over Carolina one year.)

As we celebrate our 16th season of Swami League, I look forward to our great football camaraderie and ‘in-yo-face’ smack talk. We have 18 players for 2022 and only one will hoist the trophy. Put on the eye-black and chill those brewskis. We are ON!
