How do you win without Derrick Henry? Well, a pick six and another interception to set up an easy touchdown is a good place to start. In the first half against the Rams, it was the Tennessee defense stepping up to the plate.

Matthew Stafford made a big mistake early, just trying get rid of the ball. David Long was there to make the interception in an eerily similar looking play to last week. Ryan Tannehill got the Titans on the board on the next play, finding Geoff Swaim in the endzone.

Kevin Byard added six more with a pick six just a few plays later.

The offense joined the party after that, as Tannehill put together a 14 play drive that went 64 yards. Mike Vrabel went for it twice on fourth down and converted both, the last of which being a Tannehill bootleg for the touchdown.

Defensively, Jeffery Simmons put up three first half sacks to nearly single-handed shut down Stafford and the Rams.

The Titans took a 21-3 lead into halftime.

Los Angeles appeared to cut into the Tennessee lead with a Tyler Higbee touchdown to open the third quarter, but a review showed that Higbee had stepped out prior to catching the ball. That resulted in a field goal, which brought us to a 21-6 score.

Harold Landry and Denico Autry continued to make life tough on Stafford, holding the Rams to another field goal to open the fourth quarter. After the Titans couldn’t muster anything offensively, the Rams came back with a chance to inch closer. But the defense came through again.

The Rams went for it on fourth down, but pressure from Bud Dupree wrecked the play. It was a turnover on downs, and the Titans were in good shape with under seven minutes to play.

Tennessee was powered on the next drive by a couple of roughing the passer calls to enter the redzone. Jeremy McNichols carried the ball a couple of times to get inside of the five, as the clock continued to move.

Adrian Peterson put the game on ice, scoring from one yard out to make it a 28-9 game. The Rams added a garbage time score late, making the final score 28-16.

No Derrick Henry? No problem for the Titans — at least on this night. Tennessee how now beaten the Bills, Chiefs, Colts and Rams over the last four weeks to improve to 7-2 overall.
